MILA

Project Info

Project Description

MILA is an animated short directed by Cinzia Angelini and set in Trento in 1943. Through the eyes of a little girl, the film explores the consequences of war for civilians, especially children, using images and music to convey a universal message of hope.

The production developed over many years, bringing together an international community of hundreds of artists from more than thirty countries. Pixel Cartoon took part in co-producing and making the film, contributing to the visual recreation of Trento, animation and effects within a worldwide collaborative production.

World-premiered at the Trento Film Festival in 2021, MILA combines a painterly approach, cinematic sensitivity and production innovation. It demonstrates how animation can address complex historical themes with emotion, clarity and the ability to reach different audiences.
